In what is somehow both surprising and entirely unsurprising news, Louis CK released an episode of a new television show this morning on his website, louisck.net.
The new show is called Horace and Pete and co-stars Steve Buscemi. Louis and Steve play the title characters (Horace and Pete, respectively), who are the co-owners of a bar. Alan Alda joins as Uncle Pete, Nick DiPaolo, Kurt Metzger, Jessica Lange, and Steven Wright all drop in as patrons, and Aidy Bryant plays Horace’s daughter and Edie Falco plays his sister. All in all, it’s quite the lineup of guest stars for an unadvertised first episode of a series.
There was absolutely no hints that Louis was working on anything like this — as far as we knew, Louis was keeping busy in his role as an executive producer of Zach Galifianakis’ FX comedy Baskets and as the co-creator of Pamela Adlon’s upcoming FX show Better Things (he also directed the pilot).
