Mel Brooks appeared on The Tonight Show yesterday to promote some sold out comedy shows. Since he didn’t need to push tickets, Mel had a chance to just have some fun with Jimmy and reflect on the passing of his dear friend, Gene Wilder.
There are few people as closely connected to Gene Wilder as Mel Brooks. The two of them made several classic movies together, most notably Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. Up until last night, we’d heard and read many great things about Gene Wilder, but to hear some kind words directly from Brooks was special for the audience watching last night.
In addition to remembering Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks also told some funny stories. At 90 years old, Mel still has a ton of energy. Watching and listening to him tell stories was a real treat once again.
