HBO Will be the Place to Go For Comedy in the Coming Months


If you want to laugh, HBO will have you covered through into next year. Today they announced a number of stand up specials an a new sketch series that will air in 2016 and 2017.

First, on the stand-up side. HBO will air new specials from TJ Miller, Pete Holmes, Jerrod Carmichael, and there will also be an new All Def Comedy showcase. Miller, Holmes, and Carmichael all have strong HBO ties. TJ is on Silicon Valley, Pete Holmes has a new series produced by HBO titled, Crashing that will premiere next year, and Jerrod Carmichael’s Love at the Store was one of our favorite specials of 2014. All of these specials either have been taped or will be recorded shortly, so watch for them in the near future.

Starting on October 28, Tracey Ullman returns with the appropriately titled Tracey Ullman’s Show. Her Fox series, The Tracey Ullman Show is a classic that featured numerous great characters and spawned The Simpsons. Now, she will be addressing modern British life. The series begins on Friday, October 28 at 11pm et.
