Every Wednesday, Lin-Manuel Miranda puts on a brief performance outside the theater for the huge crowds waiting for the lottery to get tickets to Hamilton. He brings out special guests, who are usually performers from Hamilton or actors/actresses from other Broadway shows. Today’s Ham4Ham show had something a little bit different, though. His guest was none other than Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog. With some considerable help from Robert Simgel (a.k.a. “the Jew up his rear end”), Triumph made sure to put Lin-Manuel in his place, as only Triumph could.
Triumph did a parody of King George’s song “You’ll Be Back”, noting that Lin-Manuel will eventually come crawling back to Broadway since “no one asked for Mary Poppins 2“. He also managed to get some good jabs in at other Broadway shows, the theater geeks who wait outside for Ham4Ham, and Josh Gad. Despite some microphone difficulties, Triumph’s appearance was truly triumphant and we’re so happy they managed to fit it in before Lin’s last show on July 9.
