There’s been a double dose of Jimmy Kimmel lately, thanks to the NBA Finals. We generally enjoy Jimmy’s primetime pre-game episodes for the basketball-related antics, but yesterday they used the extra time a bit differently. The primetime show featured the cast of the new, all-female Ghostbusters, made up of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, and the quartet was joined by the original Ghostbusters cast (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts) at the end and then throughout the late night episode. It’s always tricky to interview a group of people, so splitting it up this way at least helped everyone get a chance to talk.
Everyone of course addressed the weird controversy surrounding the new Ghostbusters, with original cast members Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd especially singing the praises of the new movie.
The new cast all get along well, and you definitely get the feeling that they had a lot of fun making the film. Of course, it’s hard to imagine anyone not having fun when Leslie Jones is around.
The original cast also talked about their experiences filming Ghostbusters way back in the day and to some of the extreme fan tattoos (which Bill Murray found absolutely hilarious).
