Last Week Tonight has been fairly politically-focused lately, talking about congressional fundraising last week and special districts a couple of weeks ago (not to mention Donald Drumpf). While they do the political stuff very well, we were quite happy to see that tonight’s main segment was a non-political one: credit reports and background checks. We hadn’t really given much thought to these reports, which we suppose we should be grateful for because that means we haven’t had any issues with them. However, millions of people apparently have issues getting loans, renting apartments, and even getting jobs thanks to mistakes on their credit reports and background checks, and John Oliver highlighted just how difficult it can be to reverse it. Naturally, John came up with the perfect way to give the credit companies a taste of their own medicine.
